Video Marketing in a Post-COVID-19 World

The use of video marketing services were already booming before the pandemic. Video content was prevalent across all social platforms and websites. As the world settles in to the new normal of working from home, video marketing is about to be see a further increase in demand.

Staying Relevant

The overall effects of the coronavirus pandemic have been crippling to the global economy with many businesses struggling to stay afloat. Companies are searching for new ways to communicate with new and existing customers in an effort to increase sales.

The best way to achieve this is to harness digital marketing and effective video production services. The pandemic isn’t going away anytime soon, so we have to learn to adapt and live with its effects on the world.

For your brand to survive and maintain profitability, you need to find new and innovative marketing methods. However, your current client base may not be spending so you will have to target your marketing towards new customers. In the meantime, you could use video to show your existing customers how much they are valued and appreciated. This may entice them to spend sooner than later but also prevent them from being poached by other companies operating in the same industry as you.

Using video to boost your business ratings

We are confident that all forms of digital marketing will experience a boom in the post-Covid-19 world. It is video marketing that will see the most interest while people continue to work from home they will search for content that requires minimal effort to consume. Videos are easy to digest unlike written content. Not everybody has the concentration or patience to read a blog article right now. Let’s hope you have read this far at least. We will likely see a decrease in face-to-face, or in-person sales interactions. With this in mind, we can help you create custom videos that can be shared in live Zoom meetings to present your product or service to a potential customer or even existing ones.

Build a Video Marketing Strategy:

Keep your marketing videos short and interesting

The best way to capture the attention of a potential viewer and customer is to keep the length of your videos short and appealing. The best way to do this is to hire a professional video production company that has years of experience in this area. Your in-house creative communications team can work with the video production company to ensure the brand messaging is maintained and collaborate to produce a video that actually works for you.

Engage your audience

The goal when producing a video must be to engage your audience and captivate them. Creating videos that are made specifically for a particular client and their needs shows that you care and that you are a good listener.

Another option is to enlist the services of a video production company to produce an animated explainer video that will inform and educate its audience. This provides the potential customer with a valuable takeaway from viewing the video.

Strategic video storytelling as part of your marketing videos will create a connection between your audience and you. Follow a “we’re-all-in-this-together” approach towards your video production and this will convey a human approach that will in the end benefit your organization on so many levels.

Businesses can no longer expect to stay relevant without a digital marketing strategy in the post COVID-19 world. Video Marketing is More Powerful Than Ever

Back when older generations witnessed the first colour printed ad, they were amazed. Brands that could afford to advertise in colour found their sales shooting through the roof. It wasn’t as much about the product they were selling, as much as it was the way in which they sold it.

Many years later when video marketing was introduced, brands were able to engage the viewer with substantial information while still being able to capture their attention. A very different medium to print advertising as it utilizes many different channels of communication to showcase your product or service.

The use of video today in marketing is endless. Videos are front and centre on a company’s website, landing page, social media, or even through emails in order to inform, educate or help generate sales.

The main reason why videos are more effective is that when we are able to see and process information with our eyes, it becomes that much easier to remember and retain it. This is why when colour printing was introduced, people found it that much more visually appealing and could retain the image in their minds for much longer.

Here are some of the top reasons as to why video marketing is now more powerful than ever:

Increased conversions and sales

Research has shown that video can increase conversions by up to 80%. When a potential customer lands on your website, having a video as an explainer holds their attention. Studies report that over 74% of people who watched a marketing video about a product went on ahead to buy it.

Greater ROI

Explainer videos have a greater return on investment as compared to other forms of marketing. While making videos are quite time-consuming, finding the perfect video agency to take care of your video services will ensure high-quality, professional-grade videos for your viewers to watch when they visit your web pages.

Video marketing is a great way to gain the trust of your customer as it is a medium that engages the emotions of a customer more conversationally. YouTube is a perfect example of this. People today would rather click on their favourite YouTuber’s videos than purchase magazines with photographs of their favourite celebrities. Studies also show that over 57% of consumers believe that videos give them more confidence to purchase online.

Smartphone use has exploded over the last few years, making video marketing all the more viable. Over 90% of people prefer to watch videos on their mobile phones, due to the sheer convenience it provides. You can sit and digest video content on your smartphone while sitting in the backseat of a cab, or even while having lunch at your desk. All because of the prevalence of video content across all platforms.

Social media share

Social media platforms are a great way to get your video seen by a wide spectrum of people. Videos are simply easy to resonate with, and this type of content is always more popular than others.

By combining a good script with even better execution and production value, you have created a video that will surely gain the attention of the viewer. A captivating video is much easier to share compared to written content.

Several social media users have no problems sharing a marketing video if they found it interesting. A good video is sure to generate interest in your brand than ever before. Video marketing is here to stay, and can only improve. This is why investing in a professional video production company to help you create the perfect video for maximum visibility makes total sense.

Video messaging can, and should, be used across your business to collaborate, connect, and convert. These are some of our favourite examples across teams and industry use cases. Among video’s many benefits for business is the power to capture and hold attention, influence buying decisions, drive organic traffic, increase conversions, and grow revenue.

Consider this: 20% of people will read the text on a page, but 80% will watch a video.

One of the best parts is that there’s no one right way to use video messaging—it can, and should, be used across your business to collaborate, connect, and convert. As a video production company, we’ve seen first-hand how powerful video can be for engaging audiences. It connects on a more human level, delivers information in a way that we process faster and retain longer, and enables us to tell better stories while infusing emotion into our message.

Simply put, video is the next best thing to being there in person. So it should come as no surprise that its use in business is quickly growing beyond its traditional roots in marketing and training. Thanks to advancements in key technologies, we’re seeing the rise of interactive and personalized video, social video, public and private live streams, secure internal video sharing, and real-time video conferencing.

We’re also seeing the rise of personal video messaging—a simple way for anyone to capture and share short video messages that are more impactful than text-based emails but don’t require a live two-way conversation like phone calls or video conferences. In many ways, it’s the best of both worlds.

Whether it’s for onboarding new employees, sharing the latest executive message, or connecting with customers in a more personal way, the adoption of video messaging is growing exponentially as the tools to enable it to become more accessible. Here are some suggested uses for video in your organization…

Employee Communication and Collaboration

Share knowledge with team members by capturing new lessons learned and best practices in a simple format that others can learn from.

Use video to keep your teams engaged and up-to-date with company updates from leadership.

Create videos for your sales team on the specific resources that are available to support them and their conversations with customers.

Welcome new hires to your company by sending them an orientation video that welcomes them to the team and introduces them to their new work environment and colleagues.

Sales Team

Introduce yourself to new accounts with a short video.

Reduce meeting cancellation rates by sending a video message before your meeting to confirm the details and build a more human connection.

Connect with new leads following your events with a short video.

This is the most common place to use video content. Videos can be used to educate your internal teams on why a new product or service is important and how they can help to promote it.

Improve the retention of your newsletter by recording and embedding custom videos to complement your email communications.

Use screen capture videos to share website updates with internal teams in a way that enables you to explain both the what and the why.

Harness the power of video to improve outreach to potential partners, sponsors, speakers, and attendees for your upcoming events.

Embed a promo video in campaign emails or landing pages to provide a high-level overview of your content.

Create short videos to solicit or provide feedback on product design, website design, and other creative assets.

The use of interactive video is on the rise. Consider building custom interactive videos to engage viewers and potential clients that will help you better understand your audience. These can be complex solutions that include forms and surveys or very simple yes/no button clicks that take the viewer down different paths. Full analytics and lead generation can be provided by using this immersive video tool.

Harnessing the Power of Online Video

Internet video content is booming, and thanks to advancing technology, access to online video has never been easier. A good example is the social media powerhouse of YouTube: at present there are over 500,000 hours of content hosted on their servers alone, of which around 4 billion hours of video are watched each month and the equivalent of three days of video are loaded every minute. Businesses are beginning to understand the huge benefits and are harnessing the power of online video every day. Multi-national corporate companies to ‘mom and pops’ have their own online TV and video networks.

Should you create video content as a part of your marketing and advertising plan? The answer is simple. And here are some reasons why:

Enhance your website. Video looks really cool on your website. Simply direct clients to your URL and immediately they can see an impressive high-definition quality video about your company. In less than 120 seconds, they have a taste of what you can offer them and why you are better than your competition. Video can captivate your audience and keep them on your site longer, generate sales leads and interest in your services.

Product demos. Video is the perfect way to capture how your product or service works. Potential clients will gain a better understanding of your company in just a few minutes. If your product or service is detailed you can create a short video overview to generate interest and provide a library of other videos that explain everything in more detail.

Education and training. ‘How-to’ videos are a great way to keep customers and staff informed of the developments in your organization. These could be product updates, a new service or even training on how to use a specific product. It’s also a perfect way to tell good news stories, creating your own positive press via the use of video is an excellent way to build morale internally and raise your profile in your industry sector.

Testimonials. For many years TV and radio advertising has been a great way to generate business. Local TV news and radio stations still remain powerful outlets to purchase time. But most businesses can’t always afford this luxury. This is where recording customer experiences are a great way to start advertising your business. When the project is complete, and your customers are satisfied, record their experience in the form of a brief testimonial and project profile. They will be happy to say how your business was better than your competitor or how you went the extra mile to ensure their satisfaction. The emotion of a personal testimonial can’t be captured in the written word so recording them on video is more effective.

Generate revenue. Let’s face it, we are all in business to make money. Major online video sites are constantly cutting deals with video content creators. They are looking for the next great thing to generate millions of hits on their sites so in they can charge advertisers or sell subscriptions. There is a trend that is slowly moving away from broadcast television. The internet has created a level playing field for aspiring actors, producers or singers. For example, via YouTube, you can allow them to place ads at the beginning or the bottom of your videos. The more hits that your video generates, the more they pay you. But you have to remember, you will need millions of hits to make a nice living from this.

Live webcasting. Live events like conferences, product demos/launches, grand openings and concerts can be shown live across the web with the option to have the video recorded and archived on the site for months. By promoting your event weeks in advance you can easily generate interest in the broadcast. Live webcasting is an affordable way to connect with a wider audience, it makes it easier for people to attend an event saving time and money. You have the option to offer your webcasts free of charge, or alternatively, charge a fee to access the online event. You can increase the interactivity of your webcast by accepting questions from the web audience via a chat room. This audience participation is a great way to engage with your online audience. For more information on live webcasting visit:

Sales support. For many years, sales teams have been armed with leave-behind materials like pamphlets, brochures and even a DVD video copy of your sales pitch. You can save time and money by having your sales team direct clients to your sales videos.

SEO (Search Engine Optimization). As soon as you upload your video to hosting sites like YouTube and Vimeo they give you an opportunity to add keywords in the video description for added search engine optimization. Nowadays, video is heavily integrated in the search criteria on the web, and this is probably the main reason to add video content on your site. If you immediately start creating content, posting it to your site and optimizing, you won’t see results right away. It takes time for the tags and keywords to populate the major search engines.

Social media. Your organization probably already has a social media presence. Maybe you have a Facebook page and a Twitter account, if so, these are cost-effective methods to promote your business by distributing links to all your online videos. Also, the more you publicize your videos via social media networks, the more hits you will get resulting in higher SEO rankings. Thanks to social media, video has rapidly become another tool necessary in the marketing world.
