The Importance of Video in Social Media

social-media-video-image-blogVideo marketing is gaining significant importance on every social platform. On YouTube alone, people watch over 1 billion hours worth of content every day. A study shows that 72% of the customers prefer to learn about services or products via video over other formats. Similarly, Facebook showed that people are 1.5 times more likely to watch a video when they are on their smartphones.

Since the audience is content-hungry, you should make it a point to use videos on your social media platform. There are several reasons why companies hire the services of video production companies like us. Here are some reasons why you should invest in video content for your business when using sites such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Twitter:

Search rankings

As a business, you want to make sure you are on the first page of any search engine’s results. When was the last time you checked the second or third page of Google? With video content, the chances of appearing on top of the search results increase significantly.

The question on your mind is – how is this possible? When you have videos, people spend more time in your page. As a result, the search engine understands that you have excellent content, boosting your rankings significantly. With the right video production agency, this won’t be much of a challenge.

Easy to understand

The problem with text-based content is that not everybody can grasp it immediately. People need visual enhancements to help them understand and digest information about your products and services. For example, if you plan on selling something to your target audience, you should make explainer videos. People prefer to watch these rather than read manuals you provide.

Improving sales

It is the goal of every business to increase sales and their profit margins. Video content has been proven to boost your revenue, and when you have a product video on your social media page, the chances of converting users to customers increases. A study has shown that when you create explainer videos about your products and services, consumers are more likely to purchase them.

Increased engagement

One thing that Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Twitter all have in common is that they all have a high number of shares, and when your content is shared on social media, it will appear on the news feed of their friends. For businesses, this is free publicity, and it can increase your reach substantially.

According to a recent study, users are more likely to share branded videos on social media platforms, if they find it entertaining. We can help you in this area since we have the knowledge to create the best content to meet your requirements. Video marketing is a powerful technique that you cannot afford to ignore in this day and age. As there are hundreds of millions of people on various social media platforms, now is the time to invest in quality video production.

With the help of this type of content on social media, you can increase awareness of your brand among users. Engage your target audience with videos, so that it is beneficial to your company. Whether you are a large firm or a startup, creating social media videos has become an essential method of advertising as it increases the effectiveness of your marketing campaigns.

Shifting from in-person events to virtual solutions

37The dramatic spread of coronavirus and COVID-19 has limited all in-person interaction, consequently, businesses are looking for solutions to move their events from in-person gatherings to virtual, online strategies.

The restrictions imposed on us due to the pandemic are continuing to affect communities and businesses alike on a daily basis. Working remotely, social distancing and elimination of public gatherings are becoming the new normal. Businesses are re-evaluating their strategies and making the shift towards digital solutions.

Here are some useful tips to consider:

It’s a good idea to form a committee dedicated to your virtual events. This can be made up of marketing experts, event planners, communications professionals and partners from other teams such as the technology sector. This committee can develop plans to streamline processes and communication as we all adapt to this unique environment.

Future evaluation

Decide as a team what needs to be cancelled and what should be converted to digital. Events that are scheduled in the short term can’t be planned to be converted to digital in such a reduced timeframe. It’s a good idea to consider moving your other events into a digital format. The perfect candidates for digital conversion are conferences, educational events, keynote presentations, seminars and public-facing presentations. Live video streaming is an ideal solution for all of these. This will ensure you reach a broader audience and extend your reach across social media platforms. Your organization can also build an online library of video recordings of all live webcasts for future educational uses or marketing opportunities.

Hire professionals

It is important to hire a professional video production team to handle the live streaming production and recording of your virtual event. That way you will benefit from an experienced team to look after all of the technical aspects that will enable you to look after the planning and marketing.

Creating the best experience

Understand your target audience, make sure they are aware of your virtual event well in advance, follow up with reminders and updates on the content you will be featuring. Make sure the experience you are presenting to them is unique, concise and relevant. Try to put yourself in the shoes of your audience to understand how you can provide the best content.

Depending on the content you can decide if you deliver a live-streamed event or a pre-recorded presentation in the style of a TED Talk 15 minute presentation that is engaging and inspirational.

Promotional strategies

When building a promotional strategy and schedule of events take into consideration user behaviour and available platforms. Use social media to promote your event and spread the word. Your event will have to stand out so be creative. Maybe a short video to promote the event that informs your audience about the content you are offering. Regular updates along with a link to the virtual online event are key. All of this ensures your audience know that you are ahead of the rest, innovative and you are thinking of their best interests.

Virtual Keynote Presentation

Recently we were contracted by 13 Ways Inc. to provide our live webcasting services for the purpose of streaming a live keynote presentation to a conference in Prince Edward Island.

Doug Griffiths, President & CEO of 13 Ways, was asked to speak at a conference in Prince Edward Island back in October. Because of Doug’s busy speaking schedule he was unable to attend in person. The solution was to webcast his presentation to the in-room audience at the venue. So, we set up a TV studio in Doug’s living room and live streamed his presentation.

The presentation was a huge success and it enables Doug to take on more speaking engagements. It also reduces the cost for the conference organizers, eliminating travel and accommodation expenses. Conference attendees were also able to interact with Doug via the online chat function we provide with our live webcasting service.

Using Video to Inform Your Strategy

As marketers find more innovative ways to grab people’s attention, video has become a meaningful part of the strategic marketing conversation.

Video is no longer an ‘up-and-comin’ marketing tactic — it’s here, and it’s a powerful way to communicate your brand story, explain your value proposition, and build relationships with your customers and prospects.

And the statistics show it’s working quite well. Did you know, for example, that including video on a landing page can increase conversion rates by 80%? Or that 92% of mobile video consumers share videos with others?

To learn more about how video marketing can help convert customers and increase interaction with your brand, check out the infographic below from Hyperfine Media. It breaks down 31 compelling video marketing statistics into five categories: conversion rates, video users, user interaction, spending, and content.
